LABOMAR ACQUIRES A STAKE OF SPHERA ENCAPSULATION

Labomar has acquired a stake of Sphera, which was founded in 2016 as a spin-off of the Department of Biotechnology of the University of Verona. The company operates in the research and development of encapsulation technologies applied to functional nutrition, nutraceuticals and agrochemicals. These processes aim at incorporating a substance within another to protect, isolate or simply improve the dispersion of active ingredients.

This acquisition allows Labomar to technologies to increase the bioavailability of the active ingredient at the absorption site, i.e., the point where it is called to act in the body, and promote a controlled release, thus optimizing its benefits.

The CEO and founder of Labomar Walter Bertin has commented: “The acquisition of a stake in Sphera will allow us to expand the know-how and competitiveness of the Group in a strategic area for our business such as micro and nano encapsulation”.
