Medical Device (class IIa) for the treatment of cough and sore throat.
Properties:
Medical device for the treatment of cough and sore throat in children (3+), adolescents and adults. Thanks to its ability to adhere to the mucosa, forming a persistent protective film, the syrup can be useful for all type of cough, wet and dry. It forms a long lasting mucoadhesive and soothing film that coats and acts as a barrier, it helps to protect the throat from the attack of bacteria and viruses and harmful environmental irritants; it rehydrates the throat and increases the hydration and fluidization of the mucus to help clear it more easily. Shield syrup is a medical device bearing a demulcent action in case of dry cough and throat discomfort. It can also be useful in case of chesty cough: it acts as an expectorant, favouring hydration and therefore mucus expulsion by physiologic mechanism.
The syrup can:
- bear a demulcent, soothing and protective action;
- reduce the discomfort of the coughing and the sore throat;
- reduce the discomfort of the coughing and the sore throat caused by the rise of acidic juices from the stomach in case of GERD;
- exert an emollient action;
- give relief to inflamed throat;
- support irritated throat mucosa;
- relief/soothe dry cough;
- limit the contact with the external agents/irritants;
- help to ease coughing.
Posology and instructions for use:
STICKPACK 5 ML
– Children from 3 to 5 years: 1 stick pack 2 times a day
– Children from 6 to 12 years: 2 stick packs 2 times a day
– Adults and adolescents: 2 stick packs 3 times a dayTake preferably between meals.

Shake the stick pack before use.
Once the stick pack has been opened, use all its content.

– Children from 6 to 12 years: 1 stick pack 2 times a day
– Adults and adolescents: 1 stick pack 3 times a day

Warnings:
- If you do not notice appreciable results after a short period of treatment (7 days), contact your doctor, in any case do not use for more than 15 days.
- Do not take it if you are allergic, intolerant or hypersensitive to any component.
- Do not administer the product to children under three years of age. (ONLY FOR STICKPACK 5 ML)
- The syrup has been specifically dosed for children from 6 years old, do not administer to children under 6 years of age. (ONLY FOR STICKPACK 10 ML)
- Do not use the product after the expiry date printed on the package.
- The expiry date refers to the product in its intact package, and properly stored.
- Do not use in case the package is not intact.
- Keep out of the reach of children.
- Do not use for purposes other than that for which the product is intended.
- Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
- Since no data on use during pregnancy and lactation are available, its use is generally not recommended as a precaution due to lack of experimental data. Even if no side effects are known, it is recommended not to use the product during pregnancy or breastfeeding. In any case, consult your doctor before taking it.
- In the event of concomitant pharmacological treatment, although no interactions with drugs are known, it is advisable to consult a doctor before use.
- Store in its original package at room temperature, place away from light.
- Any serious incident that has occurred in relation to the device should be reported to the manufacturer and the Competent Authority. In case of any undesired event always seek medical advice.
